Mercedes-Benz is unveiling an exclusive tribute to California’s scenic Big Sur coastline during the Monterey Car Week – the 2024 Mercedes-AMG SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur special edition. Specifically tailored for the American market, this limited-edition model pays homage to the captivating sunsets of the Golden State. The Manufaktur Orange Flame Metallic paint that envelops the vehicle captures the spirit of these extraordinary natural spectacles, with meticulous hand application on the front and rear bumpers.
Embellished with chrome exterior accents, the special edition features a striking interplay between its vibrant exterior and black elements, including the soft-top roof, brake calipers, and 21-inch AMG Forged Cross-Spoke wheels. For the first time in the history of AMG SL roadsters, the iconic three-pointed star badge on the hood is replaced by the distinctive AMG crest.
The interior exudes opulence with Manufaktur-spec Mystic Red and Black Nappa leather intricately hand-stitched and adorned with orange stitching throughout. The cockpit boasts active multicontour seats equipped with massage functionality, complemented by diamond-quilted perforations on the upholstery.
The interior details further accentuate the luxury, featuring deep-pile floor mats elegantly edged with Mystic Red Nappa leather piping, contrast orange stitching, and an embroidered AMG logo. An exceptional touch is the continuation of the Orange Flame Metallic paint onto the center console trim, creating a seamless connection between the vehicle’s exterior and interior. The console’s “MANUFAKTUR” script is accentuated with high-gloss chrome.
Based on the Performance specification, the AMG SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur incorporates standard front axle lift, the AMG Dynamic Plus Package, including added drive modes, a limited-slip rear differential, active engine mounts, and AMG Active Ride Control suspension.
Under the hood, the powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 churns out 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, ensuring exhilarating performance. To enhance the driving experience, a Burmester 3D surround sound system is available to immerse occupants in a world of audio luxury. The performance remains formidable, with a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 196 mph, all while retaining the special edition’s captivating allure.
Available in limited numbers exclusively in the US, the AMG SL63 Manufaktur Big Sur stands as a testament to Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to offering exclusive and personalized options to its discerning customers. Displayed at Pebble Beach from August 17-19, this special edition shares the spotlight with the newly introduced AMG GT, a mechanically-related model boasting V8 power and AWD capabilities.
