Meisha Johnson and Daughters Morea and Svea'

Reality television has become a medium for viewers to intimately experience the real-life stories of others. On the hit TLC show 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, audiences got an inside look at Meisha Johnson’s profound spiritual transformation and unlikely international romance. Alongside supporting her journey are Meisha’s beloved daughters Morea and Svea Wallin. Their tale offers an emotional portrait of personal growth, love, and unbreakable family bonds.

Meisha’s Road to Spiritual Fulfilment

Meisha Johnson’s life path underwent a dramatic turn in 2013. The former TV news reporter from Minnesota experienced a calling to dedicate herself to the Catholic faith. She became a pastoral minister and director of the Office of Parish and Clergy Services in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.

This spiritual awakening fulfilled a deep need within Meisha. In an interview, she explained: “I was lonely and looking for meaning. I went on a trip to Medjugorje and experienced a powerful conversion. I realized my purpose was to serve people through faith.”

Her new mission, however, left a void in other aspects of her life. As a single mother, Meisha longed for a romantic connection who understood her spirituality.

An International Love Story

Meisha’s prayers were answered in an unlikely way – through an online friendship with Nicola Kanaan, a man 20 years her junior from Nazareth, Israel. Nicola reached out to Meisha in 2015 via Facebook, drawn to learn more about her faith journey.

Over the next seven years, Nicola and Meisha developed a profound spiritual bond that blossomed into romance. They overcame obstacles like their age difference, long distance, and cultural barriers through relentless faith, patience, and understanding.

Nicola played a pivotal role in helping Meisha through a dark period of depression and reinvigorating her dedication to God. Finally, in 2022, Nicola flew to Minnesota to meet Meisha in person for the first time, before she accompanied him back to Israel.

Their emotional reunion was documented on TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Cameras captured the couple’s nervous excitement, Meisha’s first encounter with Nicola’s protective mother, and her tearful goodbye to daughters Morea and Svea.

Morea Wallin: Dedicated Dancer and Student

21-year-old Morea Wallin is the older of Meisha’s two daughters. As a driven student committed to her passion for dance, Morea has become a role model to her peers.

Morea found her love for dance at age 3. She trained extensively in jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and ballet at local studios like Larkin Dance Studio. In high school, Morea joined award-winning teams like Velocity Dance Company and Dare to Dream Dance Company.

When not dancing, Morea channels her focus into academics. She graduated in 2019 from Spring Lake Park High School where she took rigorous IB and AP courses. Morea also gave back through volunteering efforts for Special Olympics Minnesota.

Currently, Morea attends the University of Minnesota majoring in Psychology. She continues dancing through the University’s Dance Club while excelling in her classes. Morea’s determination in all her pursuits exemplifies her well-rounded character.

Svea Wallin: Ambitious Student Embarking on University Life

19-year-old Svea Wallin proves she’s just as ambitious as her sister. As an incoming student at Arizona State University, she’s ready to balance her studies while enjoying college life.

In high school, Svea was involved in gymnastics in addition to her challenging honors and AP coursework. She graduated from Centennial High School in 2022.

Svea plans to study Business and Hospitality at ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business. She also intends to rush for the sorority Delta Zeta this fall.

On social media, Svea gives excited updates about shopping for her new dorm room and exploring campus. The mature yet fun-loving student is eager to make memories at ASU football games and clubs.

A Close Sisterly Bond

Despite their different ages and interests, Morea and Svea share an unbreakable bond. As the daughters of a single mother, they learned to rely on one other through life’s ups and downs.

Both sisters admit they can bicker at times. But their social media posts reveal their playful dynamic – eating ice cream together, pulling pranks, and celebrating holidays.

When Meisha broke the news about visiting Israel, her daughters gave their full support. Morea and Svea helped their mom emotionally and practically prepare for her extended trip abroad.

On 90 Day Fiancé, the sisters shed tears saying goodbye at the airport, showing the depth of their love. Though the distance is hard, they stay connected via daily texts.
